Chapter 10 – Rainy Day
There was a rainstorm.
The southern coastal cities always experience intermittent rain in the autumn, which makes the air particularly humid, and the flowing wind also carries cool moisture.
Accompanying the sound of the dripping rain are the sensory cells whose functions are amplified several times by the rain. In addition to the humid water vapor, the air also has a faint plant smell, a smell of both growth and decay.
As well as…
I stared at the dense rain curtain outside, and my eyes unconsciously glanced to my side and fell on Luo Zhuowei's fair face.
Like me, she was staring at the pouring rain. Her long, thick eyelashes cast a small shadow under her eyelids, which occasionally trembled slightly as she lowered her eyes, like raindrops falling to the ground.
...and, I can feel a certain "flavor" blending into the atmosphere, which cannot be described in words but is very obvious to my senses.
It was precisely because I was sensitive to this subtle atmosphere that I reflexively pursed my mouth as I was about to say something. For some reason, I felt that if I opened my mouth to say something at this moment, something would loosen up and get out of control.
But the consequence of not talking to each other was that an inexplicable feeling was quietly growing, which was obviously as warm, cool and moist as the rain, but it was openly lingering in our senses.
In this steamy environment, I actually felt an intense embarrassment.
The panic in my heart, as if I had hit a deer to death, made me subconsciously turn my head away and decide to talk to Luo Zhuowei to break the current inexplicable atmosphere.
But I didn't expect to meet each other's eyes.
Luo Zhuowei's face was probably wet by the rain carried by the wind, and a few strands of black hair stuck to her forehead and sides of her face, but this did not affect her beauty. Instead, it added a bit of indescribable fragility.
Especially her eyes that were looking at mine. Her clear gaze seemed unexpectedly hazy in such an environment, and this distorted haziness made her gaze so vivid that it almost seemed like water was flowing.
The feeling of indulgence shook me during the less than 3 seconds of eye contact, and I realized what it really was.
It's ambiguous.
Something that grows without reason, something ambiguous.
