Chapter 22 - Rejection
She is not dense.
The moment she felt Chen Hang hugging her waist, Luo Zhuowei had a premonition of how ambiguous and embarrassing the posture of the two people would be.
The moment she fell, she heard Chen Hang snort, and she didn't feel obvious pain when she was held in his arms.
Luo Zhuowei naturally reacted at the first impact and thought that she couldn't press on Chen Hang, but the mutual gaze after the fall and the sharp distance between each other were all unexpected for her.
The body that her hands touched was warm and full of vitality. It was the same as what she had imagined it for a long time.
She propped herself up in a bewildered state, but her trembling hands defied the commands of her will, which seemed to covet the hazy touch of her dreams more than the delusions of the girl's youth, and her fingertips uncontrollably swept from the bare collarbone, to the chest that heaved with nervous breathing, and the flexible abdomen of the teenager she had hastily looked over over, covered by his sweatshirt.
At the same moment as her fingertips, Luo Zhuowei felt Chen Hang's slight trembling.
Unlike her who was trembling because of nervousness, his is the trembling due to resolution.
She, who had her legs apart, was kneeling on top of him.
The endless tide of shame generally eats away at her rationality, and her apologetic voice is out of tune.
How will he react?
Luo Zhuowei's mind had flashed thousands of assumptions, but she didn't think that she would be pushed away by Chen Hang.
He still controlled the force, and the nudge that gripped her shoulders didn't hurt her, but the lethality of the action was more psychological. It's a rejection in disguise.
So the shyness in her heart turned into shame, an annoyance that could easily trigger tears. Not for him, but for her own actions and shameful thoughts.
Did he find out?
Does he hate her?
While being helped up by Chen Hang, Luo Zhuowei couldn't help but break away from the other party's hand.
The school goddess’ cold appearance was shattered. Luo Zhuowei didn't know what the expression on her face was now, but she didn't dare to see what Chen Hang's expression was now. If she could see half a bit of distress from his expression, it would be enough to make her want to disappear from here immediately.
The self-esteem of the seventeen-year-old is reserved and fragile, and the addition of beauty to the self-esteem cannot be offset by her gentle character, but only makes her psychological defense more fragile.
So she had to carefully pile up her defenses, because she knew her own vulnerability, and she understood that her line of defense was not to be a rock, but only a straw.
Love is a thorny rose that grows in the heart, and if you want to touch it, you will have your fingers cut. It is also a beast that cannot be avoided, and if she's not careful, it will trample on the straw castle that she carefully maintains.
Sensing that her face was not quite right, Chen Hang, who hand was freed, reacted and quickly stopped her: “Wait a minute!”
But why stop her now?
Without saying a word, Luo Zhuowei picked up the bag she had placed on the sofa. She just wanted to escape from here now, to escape the atmosphere where she might not be able to contain her tears.
At the end of the hallway was the door that she had been looking forward to opening, and Luo Zhuowei stopped, put her right hand on the doorknob, and clenched the fingers of her left hand that was grasping her bag.
The doorknob is installed with a safe and reliable electronic lock, and she can't open it without Chen Hang's help. She actually understood that this was just a cover-up, she knew that she had to face all the questions that Chen Hang might have.
Luo Zhuowei closed her eyes gently, trying to force back the hot and sour tears under her eyes.
"Luo Zhuowei."
Sure enough, he would definitely chase after her, but Chen Hang stopped two steps away from her. He looked at Luo Zhuowei's back, and noticed that her straight back was actually trembling slightly: "Listen to me first…”
Luo Zhuowei refused to turn around, and she did not reply.
She desperately restrained the slight tremors that inevitably arose from her emotion, and her eyes were locked tightly on the dark door.
