Chapter 9 – Gentleman
Late autumn.
As the weather turned cooler, the school uniforms of Nanzhong are also required to change from summer uniforms to autumn and winter uniforms. Although Nanzhong is a public school, due to the academic style and teaching building characteristics, the customized school uniforms are Western-styled uniforms.
Although the full set of Western-style uniforms looks good, for male high school students of this age, the tie, belt, and dress shirt are completely a constraint during exercise. Therefore, they have to bring an extra set of clothes to physical education class, or wear a T-shirt under the shirt.
The boring and tedious Chinese class finally came to an end. I stretched my sore arms and looked out the window: the sky was covered with dark clouds and was gloomy. I was afraid that it would turn cloudy and rainy soon.
The next physical education class will probably be canceled.
I thought I could go play basketball, so I was a little depressed. I untied my tie, which was hastily tied because I woke up late, and tied it again absentmindedly: I even put on a T-shirt under my shirt...
"Luo Zhuowei, please deliver these to the class office in Duxue Building."
The head teacher's voice came from the back seat, followed by Luo Zhuowei's usual gentle response. Then I saw Luo Zhuowei walking past my seat with some difficulty, holding a large stack of books.
The pile of books, which looked heavy, was of astonishing quantity. They were stacked up like a large Jenga game, and the book on the top was almost blocking Luo Zhuowei's view.
I tightened my tie, stood up, and reached out to move most of the books in Luo Zhuowei's arms, then followed her through the narrow aisle between the seats: "To Duxue Building? It's quite far."
"Chen Hang?" Luo Zhuowei seemed a little surprised. She turned her head back to look at. Her beautiful eyes first showed a hint of surprise, and then turned into a heart-wrenching curved shape along with her blooming smile. "Thank you."
"Nothing." Should he say that the flower of Gaoling is worthy of being the flower of Gaoling? The way Luo Zhuowei smiled made me feel a little embarrassed for some reason. I touched my nose with my free hand, then pushed open the door of the classroom before her, and used my elbow to signal her to go out first. "The head teacher is not thinking properly. How can he let a girl carry such heavy books to such a far place by herself?"
Luo Zhuowei didn't answer this time. She just raised her lips slightly, turned slightly sideways, and walked out of the classroom in front of me.
Her high ponytail was swinging gently behind her head. The moment she passed by, I seemed to smell again the sweet scent unique to girls that I got a whiff of on Luo Zhuowei that day on the court.
At the same time, I also saw that in the classroom, the expressions of the boys looking at me were all filled with the words "How dare a mere dog like Chen Hang run away?"
"..." I closed the door somewhat awkwardly. It was clearly just a small matter of helping a classmate, but because of Luo Zhuowei's outstanding appearance, from a male's perspective, my behavior now seemed to be an act of ill-intentioned flattery.
I took a few steps to catch up with Luo Zhuowei who was waiting for me at a distance. I shook my head to get rid of unnecessary thoughts, chatted with her casually, and listened to her light and reserved laughter when she was amused by the content of our conversation.
